SRINAGAR: National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval arrived in Kashmir, where inci-dents of waiving of Pakistani and ISIS flags witnessed sudden increase since the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and BJP coalition government assumed office in the state.
Mr Doval is arriving at a time when there are reports that educated Kashmiri youths are joining militant organisations and a large number of trained militants are waiting across the Line of Control (LoC) to sneak into this side from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) before the higher reaches are closed again due to snowfall.
Official sources said Mr Doval arrived here to assess the overall security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the valley.
Different parts of the valley, including summer capital, Srinagar, has witnessed increase in the incidents of waiving of Pakistan and ISIS flags, particularly after Friday prayers and rallies being addressed by separatist leaders.
Recently, a senior Army officer has expressed concern that educated youths in Kashmir are joining militant ranks, particularly in south Kashmir.
The officer further said a large number of militants are waiting at launch pads near LoC to infiltrate into this side.
Source said besides meeting Governor N N Vohra and Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Mr Doval is likely to review overall security situation with senior Army, paramilitary and intelligence officers. UNI
