Srinagar: CPI(M) senior leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has asked the government to release pending wages of the need based workers, casual labourers, daily rated workers and salaries of employees of various government departments before Eid-ul-Fitr.
In a statement issued here today, Tarigami said that temporary workers and employees have been turned into a hapless lot who are always put to tremendous hardships despite toiling hard in pressing circumstances.
Voicing his serious concern over their plight, Tarigami urged upon the government to release their pending wages and salaries without any further delay.
It is irony of sorts that on one hand backdoor appointments are being reportedly made and on the other hand the already existing casual, need based and daily rated workers are craving for minimum wages. Tarigami added.
