Srinagar: The weather department here on Thursday predicted yet another spell of rains on Friday, saying temperatures would come down with the downpour in offing.
Talking to KNS, Director Meteorological Department Sonum Lotus said there is a prediction of light to moderate rainfall in Kashmir valley on Friday with the expectations of a dip in temperatures. There will be a bit of relief from the simmering heat which is being witnessed by the people here since past days. For the coming days, there will be mainly cloudy weather, Lotus said.
It was informed that during the next 24 hours with the fresh rains, the maximum and minimum temperatures shall remain 29 °C & 19 °C respectively.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the day temperature in Srinagar was 33°C while as in Quazigund it was 31.2 28. In Pahalgam the temperatures remained 28.2°C while as in north Kashmirs Kupwara, it was 31.4°C. In Kokernaag, the temperatures were recorded on Thursday as 30.5°C while as in tourist resort Gulmarg it was 18.8 °C. Reports informed that in Leh it was 34.0°C while as in Kargil, the temperatures were recorded as 29.4°C.
