Srinagar: Kulgam police Monday said it has busted a militant financing module by arresting three of its members and recovered Rs 17.5 lac Indian currency and 33 fake Golden Pounds (Edward) from their possession.
Kulgam police received a specific information that terrorists Tausif Ahmad Sheikh and Mohammad Abas Sheikh who are involved in several acts of terrorism including the killings have obtained some fake golden coins (Edward Golden Pounds) from across the border and are duping the general public by way of selling them through Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh of Rampora Qaimoh, Kulgam and Mushtaq Ahmad Kumbay of Wonpoh, Anantnag, the police spokesperson said.
After receiving the information, Kulgam police apprehended Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh brother of active terrorist Tausif Ahmad Sheikh and recovered 12.5 lac from his instance.
