SRINAGAR- Real Kashmir FC and coach Ishfaq Ahmad registered their second straight win of the 2023-24 I-League season after defeating TRAU FC 1-0 on Saturday at Synthetic Turf TRC here. The hosts beat Rajasthan United FC 2-0 in the opening game played at the same venue.
Winger Jeremy Laldinpuia scored the only goal of the game right at the stroke of half time to send the jam-packed TRC ground into ruptures. The home support for Real Kashmir was in loud voice throughout the game, ensuring the team played with grit and determination.
Laldinpuia showed remarkable individual effort in the goal, cutting pass two defenders before a one-two set him up for a curler in the bottom right corner.
The second half proved to be a nail biter for the local support as Real Kashmir dug deep and protected their lead, allowing the Manipuri football club, TRAU, to put immense pressure on the team’s backline.
TRAU missed several chances late in the game, however, the hosts held on as coach Ishfaq Ahmad continued his perfect home record for the Snow Leopards.
Real Kashmir’s next game is also at home against Churchill Brothers FC on Wednesday, November 8, with kick off at 2 pm.
