Srinagar: Ms. Nayeema Ahmad Mehjoor, Chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir State Commission for Women, called on N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
The Governor and Ms. Mehjoor discussed wide ranging issues which would fall within the purview of the Commission and the need for time-bound initiatives being taken to advance women empowerment and safeguard their rights.
The Governor also expressed his concern about the deteriorating gender ratio in the state and called for well planned action being taken to very early repair the damage which has already been suffered.
