Flashfloods in Shopiyan
Srinagar: A 25-year-old woman died due of cloudburst in a forest area of Tral in south Kashmirs Pulwama district, GNS reported Monday.
Aisha Bano, daughter of Abdullah Gujri of Doodh Marg Tral was found unconscious in the nearby forest area adjacent to her house today morning, a police official said, adding that the locals of the area immediately shifted her to nearby hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
The cause of death is believed to be cloudburst,” the official added. Meanwhile cloud burst in Heerpora and Keller area of South Kashmirs Shopian triggered flash floods in these areas, creating panic among the people living on the banks of Rambi Ara Nallah Shopian.
After flash floods, announcements were made over public addressing systems directing people to avoid going near or crossing the nallah.
In Keller area, three personsManzoor Wani, Yousf Wani and Tanvir Mirwere stuck in the floods along with a tractor. The trio was rescued by police.
