SRINAGAR: Amid growing schism between the coalition partners over host of issues, BJP President and Prime Minister Narendra Modis close aide Amit Shah has sought the presence of entire BJP leadership from Jammu and Kashmir at New Delhi on July 12 .
The meeting, according to the sources, has been called to decide the future course of action.
Sources within the BJP revealed that Shah asked the entire BJP leadership to attend the important meeting being held for two days at 27 Akbar Road New Delhi on July 12 and 13.
They said the nature of the meeting would be important in deciding partys future strategy. The BJP ministers in the government (both of the cabinet rank and of the MoS), MLAs, MLC, district presidents and other office bearers are attending the meet. The meeting has been termed important by the party high command as it would seek feedback from the party leadership in Jammu and Kashmir about the status of coalition and partys relations with the PDP. Also future course of action shall also be decided in the meet, sources said.
The meeting attains significance as it comes soon after top PDP leaders including two MPs Muzaffar Hussain Baig and Tariq Hameed Karra issued statements to press expressing discontent at the functioning of the coalition in the state.
While Baig said Chief Minister Mufti Sayeed was feeling let down and caged by the coalition partner, Karra publically advised him to break away from the coalition.
Meanwhile, when contacted, the BJP spokesman confirmed that the meeting is taking place in New Delhi on July 12. He said that the meet is aimed to strengthen the partys functioning in Jammu and Kashmir with the latest developments also being discussed by the party leadership.
