ANANTNAG: In a tragic incident a youth killed his mother by slitting her throat open with a knife Saturday afternoon in Lalan Ganoor village of Anantnag District.
Sohail Ahmad son of Ghulam Nabi Chopan, working as a constable in J&K Police, killed his mother Shamima Banoo in his home by slitting her throat following an altercation over some domestic issue, neighbours told Kashmir Observer.
After hearing the shrieks neighbours rushed to the Chopan house only to find Shamima lying in pool of blood. The culprit Sohail had escaped from the scene. They immediately rushed her to District Hospital Anantnag. However doctors at the hospital pronounced her dead on arrival.
Anantnag police has registered case in this regard and arrested the husband of the deceased woman.
