SRINAGAR-Two footballers from Kashmir Valley were part of the 2023 Under-19 SAFF Championship winning Indian team, as they defeated Pakistan 3-0 in the final game on Friday at Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Forward Sahil Khursheed was named in the playing eleven of the final, while defender Jahangir Ahmed Shangloo was named among the substitutes.
The two footballers hail from Lasjan and Baramulla regions of Kashmir Valley.
The Indian team beat Bangladesh (3-0) and Bhutan (2-1) in the group stages, before getting the better of Nepal in the semi-final.
The J&K Football Association congratulated both players and the Indian win for their win in a social media post.
