Srinagar-The State Investigation Unit (SIA) on Wednesday carried out series of targeted raids at multiple locations in South Kashmir’s Pulwama, Shopian and Anantnag districts in connection with the killing of Sanjay Sharma, a 40-year-old ATM guard in Pulwama district in February this year.
Official sources said that raids are being conducted in the Litter area of Pulwama, Shirmal area of Shopian district and Anantnag district as well. He said that raids are underway in connection with the investigation in the case of the killing of ATM guard Sanjay Sharma of Pulwama who was killed in February this year.
Earlier this year, Sharma, a Kashmiri Pandit, was shot at point-blank range by militants while on his way to a local market.
Raids are underway and further details will be shared after the culmination of the raids, he added.
Notably, the case of Sharma’s killing was first investigated by Pulwama Police, however, it was later transferred to the SIA.
According to a previous PTI report, the key focus earlier was on the residences of three active persons, namely Danish Hamid Thoker, also known by the alias Khalid, Ubaid Padder from Chakoora Shopian, and Abrar Farooq Wani of Heff Shirmal. These individuals, as the report states, have been identified by SIA for their connections to the ongoing investigation.
