SRINAGAR: The family of the murdered Guernsey woman, Sarah Groves, says they’re disappointed with the progress of the trial as the court in Srinagar sat for the 50th time on Tuesday with the case being adjourned yet again until the end of the month. The trial started in June 2013.
Out of 46 listed witnesses there are still almost 20 to be processed through the court.
Sarah’s parents, Vic and Kate Groves, say they are now considering taking their concerns to a higher authority in India.
Sarah’s body was found on a houseboat in Kashmir in April 2013. Dutch national, Richard de Wit, denies murder.
Sarah Groves, 24, from Guernsey, was stabbed to death on the boat in the state’s summer capital two years ago.
The arrested man, who is his 40s, is thought to have arrived at the boat where Miss Groves had reportedly been staying for two months.
The Dutch national had fled from the houseboat in the night, leaving behind his belongings carrying only his passport. The police had flashed an alert for his arrest.
He was arrested in Qazigund, a town just under 75km (45 miles) south of Srinagar.
