Seals shop, Ice-cream factory
SRINAGAR: A team led by Municipal Magistrate, Srinagar Mr. Khurshid-ul-Islam along with Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Srinagar, Mr. Hilal Ahmad and other Food Safety officers today inspected various food establishments in the city particularly in and around Parimpora Fruit Mandi.
During the inspection one of the shopkeepers was found selling a banned artificial fruit ripening product (Calcium Carbide) which is dangerous for health. Fruits contaminated by this artificial chemical cause severe health problem.
Similarly, during inspection of an ice cream factory namely Delicious Ice-Cream, the team found the factory in unsanitary conditions with rusted equipment.
The team immediately sealed both the shop and the ice-cream factory and produced challan in the Court of Municipal Magistrate, Srinagar.
