Minister asks C&PD Deptt to workout financial implications
SRINAGAR: The State Government is going to give rations to the consumers as per the Census 2011 from July 2015 onwards.
This was stated by the Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and Tribal Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali while chairing a meeting with the officers of CA&PD department convened to reconcile the requirement in tune with 2011-Census.
Secretary CA&PD, Mr Sourab Bhagat, Directors of CA&PD, Kashmir and Jammu, all Assistant Directors of CA&PD and other officers attended the meeting.
The Minister directed both the Directors to ensure distribution of rations to the consumers according to the Census of 2011 from the month of July. He also asked them to ensure supply of rice to the consumers before Eid-ul-Fitr as per the latest verified list till new ration cards are issued. He said preparation of ration cards is in the final stage and will be distributed among the consumers shortly.
Ch. Zulfkar directed the Assistant Directors to submit the lists to respective Directors duly signed by the respective Deputy Commissioners immediately. He said any negligence in this regard will be viewed seriously.
The Minister directed the concerned to work-out the financial implications for additional food quota as per the Census of 2011 and submit the same to the concerned quarters immediately so that the recommendations could be forwarded to the Food Corporation of India (FCI) for release of additional ration quota.
