SRINAGA- The 2023 Srinagar Premier League continued with its Round 13 action, with one out of two scheduled matches taking place on Wednesday at Synthetic Turf TRC here.
In the first game of the day, LoneStar Kashmir FC was scheduled to take on Kashmir Avengers FC at 4 pm. However, LSKFC has decided to “discontinue” competing in the league over issues with the Jammu & Kashmir Football Association. The Srinagar-based club issued a statement on Tuesday, referencing a dispute over a Premier Division game against AG’s Office XI.
The only game of the day saw Downtown Heroes FC lock horns with J&K United FC. J&K United took an early lead, as Mehran found the back of the net in 8th minute. Both teams struggled to break their opponents defences for the rest of the half, with the half time at 1-0.
The Heroes came flying in the second half and scored three goals to seal the tie. Moomin equalised for the Downtown Heroes in 61st minute, before Shahid made it 2-1 in the 82nd minute. Moomin ensured Downtown took all the points as he made it 3-1 in the 92nd minute.
The 2023 Srinagar Premier Division League has two matches on schedule for today, Thursday, September 7. SCFA Srinagar will take on Novelty FC at 4 pm, while JK Bank Academy takes on STFC Natipora at 7 pm. Both games will be played at Synthetic Turf TRC.
