SRINAGAR– Two matches were played in the 2023 Srinagar Premier League on Tuesday at different venues here.
In the first game of the day, latest footballing sensations of the Valley, FC1, took on a team of young prospects of JK Bank Academy at Bakshi Stadium.
The highly anticipated matchup lived up to its expectations early on, as Yamin gave JK Bank Academy the lead in the very first minute. However, FC1 bounced back and made it even in the 7th minute via a goal by Hashim. At half time the score read 1-1.
The second half of the game proved to be a cagey affair as neither side could capitalise on goal-scoring opportunities. The match ended 1-1 at the full time whistle.
The second game of the day was played between Lonestar Kashmir FC and ARCO FC at Synthetic Turf TRC. The late evening showdown was a highly contested matchup that saw two talented teams go up against each other.
ARCO took an early lead, as Basit slotted home in the 11th minute. LKFC failed to find the back of the net, as at half time the scores read 1-0 in ARCO’s favour.
The second half saw both teams try to create chances, but neither could find the back of the net. At full time, ARCO FC held on to their slender 1-0.
