PULWAMA: The Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested a wild life official on charges of attempt to rape on a class 4th girl in Tral area of south Kashmirs Pulwama district.
Official sources said that the wild life official identified as Abdul Gani Beigh (52-year-old) of Buchoo, Tral was posted at Sathoora area and was putting up in a rented accommodation in the area.
On Sunday afternoon, when the parents of the 9-year old girl (name with held) were working in the nearby fields, the official while taking the advantage of the absence of the family members tried to rape her, they said.
However, the girl raised an alarm which caught the attention of the neighbours who immediately reached the house, they said. In the meantime, Beigh managed to flee from the spot.
Meanwhile, the girl narrated the whole incident before her parents who later approached the local police station with a written complaint about the incident, they said.
A police official while confirming the incident said that the official has been arrested immediately and a case under FIR no. 66/2015 under section 376 and 511 RPC has been registered against him and further investigations taken up.
