I remember the first time I saw them, it was 26th August 2013. It was one of the most beautiful days of my life. I saw them, one of the girls looking mysteriously beautiful in yellow and the other looking like a song in green! I walked to them and introduced myself, Asalamu alaikum, I am Azra; the girls immediately turned to me and exchanged wishes. The girl in yellow introduced herself as Asmat Ara and the one in green was Adfar Bandy. Two lovely ladies of my life! It was their first day in college and I had to do my best to make them feel at home, because the moment I saw them, I was attracted towards them violating the Newtons law of opposite attraction, because we were not opposites, we were more similar than singular! We broke the ice of informality and slowly and gradually got to know each other. It was beautiful to have someone by your side all the time. After some days, one more member joined the fantastic four group, none other than Nargis Quereshi, the smallest in the group and the loveliest of all, but I never treated her as a sister or junior, for some unknown reasons, I treated her like my own daughter; I shared a very deep and special bond with her! Now the group was complete and our journey of friendship started.
I remember the attitude I used to have before meeting these girls; I used to be silent, aloof, hysterical, anti-social and selectively social! I was scared to invest emotionally, but, after meeting them, my life changed for better, I remember Asmat teaching me the basic rules of friendship, I remember Adfar caring for me more like a sister than a friend and Nargis respecting me and relating me with herdedu. One such incident that is close to my heart is Adfar was hospitalized one day, on hearing this I immediately rushed to the hospital to meet her; there she was, in pain and tears! That day, I decided, no matter what I am going to take care of this girl purely and whole heartedly! Times passed and our bond grew stronger, we cried together, laughed together, did the wackiest things together and matured together. I never believed in friendship or making friends, but these girls were irresistible! I remember the times when we went on a trip to Dehradun and had all the fun in the world, I resisted to go, but that one look from Asmat signaling , DONT YOU DARE TO SAY NO , changed my mind and off we went! The gleam of our friendship blossomed there. These girls taught me that life is meant to be lived and each moment should be spent in the best possible manner.
I remember the cute talk between me and Nargis, when we were in Dehradun, she signaled me to come closer to her and she said, Di, why cannot you say no to people?, I was highly moved the way she cared for me and sensed my inner feelings! It was incredulous! These girls had to work doubly hard to bring out the little soft Azra from my tough exterior! Kudos! Now we are just like the peas of same pod! Sometimes we agree to disagree; sometimes we are all the same! But that is how friendships are supposed to be! It was my treasure to wound up in this beautiful feeling. At last, I would like to thank them. Thank you girls, you forced me to look at horizons I never wanted to see, my soul was too primitive to understand such things, but you changed me for better. Thank you!! Having friends is cool, but having you is serendipity!
