Srinagar- A two-year-old boy was mauled to death by a leopard on Thursday in Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Burhan Zahoor, son of Zahoor Ahmad Khan of Check Dadoo village in Sangam was pounced upon by a leopard near his residence on Thursday evening, reports said. The leopard reportedly dragged the boy into dense orchards.
Alerted by the cries, reports said, the family and locals chased the leopard and retrieved the boy in critical condition. The minor was removed to sub-district hospital (SDH) Bijbehara where he succumbed to his injuries.
The incident created panic among the villagers, who demanded authorities to trap the leopard to avoid any such incident in the future, a local news agency KNO reported.
