Srinagar: Tragedy befell upon twin families when two labourers, both related, died after a roof collapsed on them when they were busy in dismantling a dilapidated building in Balgarden area of Srinagar city Thursday morning.
Reports said that both the labourers got buried under the intact cemented loft after it collapsed suddenly. People present on spot put all their efforts to take them out from the heavy intact loft. We were standing about two or three feet away from them when the loft suddenly gave way. Both were buried under it. It took us some 10 to 15 minutes to move the heavy loft and immediately we rushed them to hospital, but doctors declared them brought dead, an eyewitness tsaid.
Police identified the deceased as Bashir Ahmed Khuroo (30) son of Abdul Ahad and Ghulam Muhammad Khuroo (35) son of Abdul Salam, both residents of Pamposh Colony Noor Bagh Srinagar..
Police said that a formal case has been registered in this regard. After completing all the formalities, the bodies were handed over to the families.
