Srinagar- A baby boy drowned to death in Karnah area of North Kashmir Kupwara district on Thursday.
3-year-old Mehran Ahmad, son of Syed Fayaz Gillani resident of Chamkote drowned in a canal at Chamkote Karnah while he was playing, a local news agency KS reported.
The baby boy, the report said, died on the spot.
After legal formalities, the report said, the body was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance and started an investigation.
