Kits, Gifts for Students and Medicine for Village Elders Distributed
Srinagar – The National Social Service (NSS) team of Womens Degree College, Nawakadal, took a long leap in voluntary services by reaching out to the students and general population of a far flung village, Nilgrath ahead of Sonamarg on the foot hills of Zojilla. Team distributed stationery, educational material and goodies among local school children and medicine etc. among elders of the village besides educating local children about environmental protection, mountain manners, clean village concept, health, hygiene and other related issues.
On the eve of the valedictory function held at Sonmarg on the conclusion of the three day NSS Camp, the Chief Guest and Chief Coordinator NSS, Kashmir University, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Khan was told that in view of the overall poverty and backwardness of Nilgrath village, College NSS team has decided to adopt and target Nilgrath village for its future voluntary activities also.
The NSS Coordinator of the College, Prof. Asya Khan, Who was accompanied by Prof Ifat Mufti and Ms. Tahira, informed that it is for the first time that NSS Team of any College organized such a camp in a far-flung area of the State.
