Srinagar – According to notification from Inspector General of Police (IGP), Traffic, certain restrictions and measures have been enforced with immediate effect for smooth regulation of traffic on Srinagar Jammu national Highway-1A (NHW-1A) with immediate effect.
These measures were taken to ensure safety and security of passengers on NHW-1A in view of shooting stone stretches and accident prone areas especially Ramsoo-Ramban sector coupled with heavy movement of nomads and poor road condition in this particular sector and at other places of NHW.
Accordingly, all kinds of Jammu bound Passenger Service Vehicles (PSVs) shall cross TCP Qazigund up to 1200 hours, while as Srinagar bound Passenger Service vehicles (PSVs) shall cross TCP Nagrota up to 1100 hours and TCP Udhampur by 1230 hours positively.
The Trailers/ multi-axle vehicles shall be allowed for onwards journey (from Srinagar side) towards Jammu from 1800 hours till 2300 hours. Similarly, the movement of Trailers/multi-axle vehicles bound for Kashmir (from Jammu side) shall be allowed for onwards journey at Udhampur from 1800 hours till 2300 hours.
However, no such vehicle shall be allowed to cross the above mentioned TCPs either before or after the above schedule. The concerned DTIs/SOs will ensure that these trailers/multi-axle vehicles are parked at suitable places where there is no apprehension of traffic jamming;
The movement of Load carriers (Trucks) bound for Srinagar (from Jammu side) shall be allowed from TCP Udhampur after 1500 hours. However, the load carriers carrying essential commodities like rice, livestock, vegetable, milk, LPG, oil tankers etc. shall be allowed for further movement (towards Srinagar) up to Chanderkote only and thereafter will be released for further journey towards valley after 1700 hours.
The Jammu bound (from Srinagar side) load carriers (trucks) shall cross TCP Qazigund up to 1300 hours and after 1300 hours the load carriers will be lined up and shall be allowed for further journey after 2400 hours.
