SRINAGAR: In order to discuss the implementation of Mobile Fertilizer Monitoring System (mFMS) in Kashmir Division, a joint meeting of the representatives of various fertilizer companies and wholesale fertilizer dealers was held at Agriculture Complex Lal Mandi under the chairmanship of Director Agriculture Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by the Joint Director Agriculture Extension Jammu, Director Rakhs and Farms, Joint Director Agriculture Extension Kashmir, Chief Agriculture Officers and Nodal Officers.
The meeting was apprised that the objectives of mFMS are to connect the Dealers with the system, so that subsidy reaches directly to the farmer who is end user. By this system the stocks and distribution will be monitored through e-governance. All the fertilizer companies were advised to open their accounts through their dealers to ensure online availability and timely distribution.
Director Agriculture Kashmir instructed the Chief Agriculture Officers to conduct workshops with the companies and retailers in their respective districts to achieve the objective. He impressed upon the officers for transparency in the system. He impressed upon licensing authorities of the department to suspend the license of the erring retailers, who do not open their IDs to get connected with the mFMS. He also instructed the stake-holders that there should be the only one ID for each retailer. He impressed upon the Nodal Officers to effectively monitor the stocks & distribution of fertilizers in their districts.
