ANANTNAG: Acting on a complaint the Department of Legal Metrology, Anantnag slapped a fine on a reputed showroom dealing in footwear in the district for the package of leather Chappal purchased by the complainant that was not carrying mark P.
The complaint was referred to Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology Anantnag who took an instantaneous action against the erring trader by registering a case against him.
The erring trader pleaded for composition and an amount of Rs 3500/- was slapped on the trader for the lapse.
Meanwhile, Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology Budgam booked a POP dealer for the packages of POP were not carrying the mandatory declamations of P, date of Packing, net contents etc. The Assistant Controller imposed a penalty of Rs. 5000/- on the trader for the violation.
