New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bangladesh from June 6 to 7, it was officially announced here today. The External Affairs Ministry said, ”This visit, Prime Ministers first to Bangladesh, reflects the importance attached by India to the bilateral relationship.
Mr Modi had been invited by his Bagladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina sometime ago to visit her country. The Ministry said the visit was expected to further expand the cordial and cooperative relationship between the two countries and strengthen the ties of friendship and trust between them.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will hold discussions with Ms Hasina. The Prime Ministers programme will also include a call on President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid, the Ministry said.
