SRINAGAR: Day after three soldiers and an infiltrator were killed during a gunfight, the army on Tuesday pressed choppers in service to locate infiltrators who they believe have managed to sneak in from across the Line of Control in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district in north Kashmir.
Sources said the searches for the militants were going on throughout the day with the help of choppers over the woods of Tanghdar sector. Besides, they said, the army brought additional reinforcements in the area in order to track down the militants.
The search operation is being conducted by 3/1 GR and 20 Rashtriya Rifles unit.
Sources said that the gunfight between four to seven militants — who probably had sneaked in from Darshan Gali took place inside the fence. The army, however, said they foiled the infiltration bid by pushing the militants back.
