Man injured in Leopard attack in Baramulla village
Srinagar- A brown bear, involved in damaging graveyards in Rajwara village of Handwara in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, was captured on Saturday.
Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that Wildlife department with the assistance of police captured the man-eater brown bear who was ransacking graveyards in Rajwara village.
He said that the bear was roaming in the residential areas for the last few days, posing danger to people’s lives and their livestock, besides having damaged graveyards in Rajpora, Shatigam and adjacent areas.
Soon after getting information cages were set up at multiple locations and after hectic efforts the bear was captured,” he said.
Meanwhile, a man was injured after he was attacked by a leopard in Authoora village in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district today.
He said soon after the incident he was shifted to a nearby hospital.
He has been identified as Ghulam Haider Pandith of Authoora Kreeri.
Meanwhile, an official said that they are efforts are on to capture the leopard and appealed to the people to remain cautious.
