SRINAGAR- Downtown Heroes FC are all set to take on Delhi FC today, Saturday, April 29, at Synthetic Turf TRC, in a must-win I-League 2 matchup. This will be the final game in the Group Stages of the competition.
Both teams are vying for the top two spots in the Group A table and a chance to progress to the next stage of the third-tier league. Downtown Heroes are currently third in the standings, taking 13 points from 7 matches, while Delhi is placed first, with 15 points from 7. Second-placed team Jagat Singh Palahi FC have accumulated 13 points from their 7 games but has a better goal difference than the Heroes.
Only a win would ensure the Downtown Heroes a top-two finish, and the pressure would be high on the Hilal Rasool Parray-coached team. The veteran coach has placed his trust in local talent and hopes that home support can pull the team through today.
The Heroes have not been beaten in a Group Stage match at home this season but did lose 3-0 to Delhi in the reverse fixture on March 17.
The game is slated for a 3:30 PM kick-off.
