A strike with a word strikes much deeper than a strike with a sword.
This is one of the best quotes, I have ever gone through. It carries a very deep meaning. Human beings are the only living beings who have been empowered by a blessed trait that is speech. We see, we talk and we hear, that makes us perfectly imperfect. I purposely said the word perfectly imperfect because these traits when used in an unpolished and imperfect manner can turn into blunders. None of us can claim that they have a mastery over their speech skills. At times, we all do suffer from verbal diahorrea and speak those words which we never intend to. At that time we realize how much careful we should be while conversing with others. We often have a pseudo notion that we need not be careful, while interacting with our dearest friends, but that is completely wrong; according to me we should filter, rather skim each and every word we utter. Hopefully, it will lead to an everlasting, positive communication and relation.
Now, if we talk about the written words, again it can work magic.
Written words when given a proper shape can create laurels like DR ALLAMA IQBAL, or can give birth to disastrous writers like Salman Rushdie. It is up to us to use the power of written words in a very decent, sophisticated, disciplined, logical and filtered way. Words can work havoc if read and spelt improperly. An Urdu proverb goes like this Kamaan se nikla hua teer and muh se nikli hui baat wapas nahi aatay! That is cent percent right. We should use the words before giving proper thought to it. Here again, I am a prey to this vicious trait. Sometimes I lose my temper and say words which I never mean, but the other party fails to understand the innocence behind my malicious words. So, here I too am a victim of my words, as most of us are. However, if we never intend to hurt anybody by our words, do not worry; right up there is a supreme planner who is observing each and every action of yours. He is closer to your Jugular vein (shah-rag).
The crux of the whole discussion is that, use the power of words judiciously and let not you lose your precious relations just because of the mis-interpretation of said words. Words are as much important as silence and silence is as much important as words. I have done blunders by speaking hurtful word to my nears and dears at times.
Through this write-up, I want to apologize and ask for their forgiveness. This is my secret, what is yours?
