Srinagar: Categorically rejecting the statement of Justice (retd) M L Koul who comprises one-man judicial commission to probe the killing of over 120 civilians during the 2010 uprising in Kashmir, the Hurriyat said that the commission was acting partially and trying to hide the crimes of the accused involved in the killing of innocent Kashmiri youth by making dubious statements.
The spokesman said the commission instead of identifying the culprits of 2010 killing to try them in the court of law was deliberately trying to create confusion about the culpability of the security personnel responsible for the killing and trying to mix up issues of ex gratia relief and compensation with the actual commission of the crime with the intention to cover up the crime and exonerate the guilty. As a result, he said the aim of the commission for which it was established has also died out.
Justice (retd) M L Koul on Tuesday had claimed that the families of the victims are interested in securing government jobs rather than punishing the guilty government forces personnel. He had also stated that said that all the statements recorded and the petitions it had received from the victims family were washed away in last years flood.
The spokesman said the statement of Justice Koul has once again proved that the commission was constituted as a part of delaying tactics and its sole aim was to protect and hide the crimes of government forces involved in the 2010 bloodshed.
The spokesman said the statement of justice Koul to media was contrary to the basic tenets of justice, justice Koul instead of providing justice to the victims and exposing the realities associated with the cases by identifying the names of culprits, made laughable arguments.
Meanwhile the spokesman has seriously condemned the terrorist act in Karachi which led to the killing of 47 people and injuring dozens others. He said the terrorism was condemnable in all its forms. He said the terrorist acts in Pakistan were perpetrated by the forces which were hell bent upon to destabilize Pakistan. The spokesman has extended his heartfelt condolence with the families of the Karachi terror incident.
