Srinagar: The Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Atul Karwal Tuesday said that they are ready to face challenges posed by militants in the Kashmir in the face of Sangam-like-attacks in which two of their personal were killed.
We as a force are determined to not let such incidents get our morale down or let the boys feel that we cant handle this challenge. Our officers and men are highly motivated and from such incidents we prepare stronger, better. We also learn from such incidents as we come up better prepared to handle this in future, the IG CRPF told reporters on the sidelines of wreath laying ceremony of the slain CRPF men at Humhama here.
Hizbul Mujahideen militants yesterday shot dead two CRPF personal including an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) near Halmulla village of Sangam along Srinagar-Jammu Highway in Anantnag district of south Kashmir.
Expressing sympathy with the families of the slain, the IG CRPF said: It is a very sad, unfortunate incident. It is a loss to the nation, to the force and to the families. The families have our full support and sympathy. We as a force are determined to not let such incidents get our morale down or let the boys feel that we cant handle this challenge. Our officers and men are highly motivated and from such incidents we prepare stronger, better. We also learn from such incidents as we come up better prepared to handle this in future.
Replying to a question, he said: It is a trend which all of us have anticipated. We also have intelligence inputs and preparations are afoot to handle this challenge, the IG said referring to attacks of militants in which they targeted government forces specifically.
On the occasion, the Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra and other senior police officers were also present and paid homage to slain paramilitary troopers.
