Srinagar- Police on Tuesday arrested a woman and her son on charges of drug peddling in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
According to a police spokesperson, specific information through reliable sources was received by the cops of Police Post Mochwa Mohammad Yaqoob Khan and his mother has concealed contraband substances in their residential house at Gopalpora village of Chadoora.
Acting on the information, he said, a police party led by Inspector Mudasir Shafi along with 1st class executive magistrate B. K Pora raided the specific spot and recovered 31 sticks of charas weighing 1 Kg & 122grams from the house.
“Both mother & son have been arrested on spot and have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody,” the spokesperson said.
Accordingly, he said, a case vide FIR No. 46/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation has been initiated.
