BARAMULLA- Condolences have poured in from all quarters after the sudden demise of international Wushu athlete and General Secretary Wushu Association Baramulla, Jabeena Akthar of Dobiwan Tangmarg. Akhtar passed away on Friday at her residence.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar held a condolence meeting in this regard at the DC’s office chamber on Friday at DC Office Complex Baramulla.
Jabeena Akhtar was known for her exceptional skills in Wushu as well as for her philanthropic work, using her honorarium to help the needy and starving.
The DC while terming it a huge loss for the entire district said that Jabeena’s contributions to the world of sports will always be remembered and her legacy will continue to inspire athletes in the region.
Deputy Director Information PR Kashmir, Bilal Mukhtar Dar also expressed his grief on the demise of Jabeena Akhtar.
He said she was courageous, talented and a master in her profession who played an important role to empower Kashmiri girls and bring up the hidden sportsmanship in them.
