Srinagar: A doctor at SMHS hospital Srinagar dragged a patient out from the hospital after he registered a complaint against him before Medical Superintendent of the hospital.
Reports said that a patient Rafiq Rasool of North Kashmirs Pattan town arrived in the hospital on Tuesday for the treatment but found the Endocrinologist Specialist Dr Hayat absent from the hospital. The patient visited the hospital again on Wednesday but the doctor refused to see him.
It was 12 noon and yet the doctor refused to see me. I went with my OPD ticket vide number 49096 to Medical Superintendent Dr Nazir Ahmed Chodhri and briefed him about the matter. The MS gave me a chit with his official seal and as I showed the chit to Dr Hayat, he lost his cool, abused and kicked me out from the hospital, the patient said alleging that the said doctor always leaves the hospital at 12 in the noon for his private practice at Bindroo Medicate, Karan Nagar, Hazratbal and other places.
Doctor Hayat is supposed to attend the hospital and take care of patients from 10 to 4 during the day, but always leaves the hospital at 12 noon, the patients outside Endocrinology ward said adding that we see him always in a hurry to leave the hospital.
Medical Superintendent SMHS hospital termed the incident unfortunate and said that if the patient will register a written complaint against the doctor, he will initiate action against him.
