Bandipora: A protest demonstration of casual labours of PWD, PHE, PDD, Toursim, JVC, JKPCC, UEED, R&B. Forest and Information departments in North Kashmirs Bandipora district under the banner of JK Casual and Dailywager Forum.
Hundreds of casual labours assembled in the premises of PHE department Bandipora and raised slogans in supports of their demands including their regularization. The protesting employees after submitting a memorandum to DC Bandipora demanded early settlement of their cases as according to them they are suffering badly due to delay in regularization of their services since 1994.
The protesters said the previous state governments had made false promises of regularization of around 62,000 casual and need based workers working in different departments.
“We are being cheated each day, our dreams shattered and our lives ruined even after giving tireless services day & night,” Muhammad Asif spokesman said.
The protesters urged the Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed to look into the matter.
