SRINAGAR- Bad weather forced no play on Day 4 of the J&K versus Tripura Ranji Trophy match at Hostel Ground JKCA in Jammu, ending the match in a draw.
J&K had declared their first innings at 446/6 after winning the toss and opting to bat first. The first day of four-day test was lost to bad weather, while wet outfield curtailed play on Day 2. J&K declared on Day 3 and had Tripura in a crunch at 76/4 when the umpires called it a day. However, both teams had to accept a draw on Friday as no play was deemed possible on Day 4.
J&K batter Abhinav Puri was named player of the match for his 121 runs off 316 balls in the first innings.
J&K will next play Chandigarh on Tuesday, January 24. It will be the team’s last match of their disappointing 2022-23 Ranji Trophy campaign. J&K is currently seventh in the eight team Elite Group D table with seven points from six matches, having lost four, drawn one and won one in the process.
