Shopian- The Director, Rural Development Department (RDD) Kashmir, Khalid Majid on Wednesday presided over a meeting of departmental Officers at Meeting Hall of Mini-Secretariat, here to take a comprehensive review of all activities and works.
At the outset, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Hilal Ahmad apprised the chair about the current status of different works undertaken by RDD Shopian. He presented a detailed report about the implementation of various Centrally Sponsored schemes including 14th FC, MGNREGA, SBM and other related schemes through a powerpoint presentation.
The meeting also discussed the physical and financial status of projects targeted for completion in the current fiscal.
It was given out in the meeting that under 14th FC, out of 1763 works, 1528 works have been completed and 367 works taken up during Back to Village are almost nearing its completion.
On the occasion, the Director emphasised on the concerned officers to take immediate measures to accelerate the pace of the ongoing works for their time-bound completion and directed for regular monitoring of works.
Directions were also passed for clearance of Material and labour payments within days to the extent of releases made till date.
Director exhorted upon the concerned officers to achieve the set targets under different schemes within a stipulated time frame with a focus on the creation of durable assets.
The Director, after taking stock of works in the district directed all the officers to keep a close liaison and coordination with PRIs so that implementation of developmental activities is ensured in a hassle free manner and people can realize the actual and intended benefits of work.
Among others, Ex. Engineer, REW, DSEO, BDOs and other concerned officers/ officials were present.
