SRINAGAR- J&K senior men’s football team is all set to take on hosts Kerala in the 76th Santosh Trophy today, Thursday, January 5.
The match will be played at EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode, with kick off slated for 3:30 PM.
J&K’s Santosh Trophy campaign started with an impressive 2-0 win against Bihar. However, the momentum from that victory fizzled out soon as the team lost 2-3 to Mizoram and then drew 0-0 with Rajasthan. The team is in dire need of all 3 points against Kerala, which have won 3 out of their 3 matches.
J&K’s final match of the tournament will be on January 7 against Andhra Pradesh. With Mizoram and Kerala leading the Group II table with 9 points after 3 matches, J&K (on 4 points) face an uphill struggle to qualify for the next round of the 2022-23 Santosh Trophy season.
