SRINAGAR- The Jammu and Kashmir senior men’s cricket team is all set to take on Railways in Ranji Trophy on Tuesday, January 3. The match will take place at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat, Gujarat.
J&K are placed 5th in the Elite D table, accumulating 6 points from 5 matches. Madhya Pradesh lead the group with 20 points from 3 matches, followed by Gujarat who have taken 14 from 3.
The J&K side have won 1 and lost 2 matches in the tournament thus far, while Railways have earned 1 point from their 3.
Including the game against Railways, J&K still have four matches left to play in the tournament. Punjab, Tripura and Chandigarh await J&K after today’s match, and the team will hope Abid Mushtaq, who took 8 wickets in their previous match against Vidarbha, will once again spin Jammu & Kashmir closer to the next round.
