Stresses For Scientific & Sustainable Extraction Of Minerals
Bandipora- The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Friday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the lifting and transportation of minor minerals for Government works.
The meeting discussed various issues related to lifting and transportation of minor minerals for Government projects besides the DC also reviewed minor mineral mining scenarios in the district.
Dr. Owais urged the officers to work in close coordination and liaison in the best interest of checking illegal mining in the district.
He stressed for scientific and sustainable extraction of minerals for developmental works without damaging the ecology of the area.
The DC urged the public not to indulge in illegal mining and warned of severe punishment as per law against violators.
The meeting was attended by ADDC/ Nodal Officer Coordination, Mohd Ashraf Hakak; ADC Bandipora, Waseem Raja; District Mineral Officer, Ex. Engineer R&B, AD Fisheries, Tehsildars and others concerned.
