JAMMU: The Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi accompanied by the Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mr. Sukhnandan and the Minister for Technical Education and Youth Service and Sports, Mr. Imran Raza Ansari today visited various villages of Pattan and other adjacent areas to take stock of the situation which has arisen due to incessant rains.
Interacting with people at different villages they said that necessary mechanism have been put in place by the Government for dealing with recent flood situation. They further said that control rooms have been established in North, South and Central Kashmir to monitor the water levels.
The Ministers also urged the people not to panic as every possible step has been taken to deal with the flood threat and around 4 lakh sand bags have also been made available to strengthen the river bunds and to deal with any eventuality.
