SRINAGAR- Real Kashmir FC will face TRAU FC in their I-League fifth-round fixture at Synthetic Turf TRC in Srinagar on Thursday.
The Snow Leopards defeated Churchill Brothers 1-0 on Monday and have now moved to the top the I League table with ten points. RKFC is the only team who are yet to concede a goal in the competition.
Highlighting the importance of the game, RKFC head coach Mehrajuddin Wadoo told reporters at the pre-match conference, “TRAU are a good team, they have had good results and it’s going to be a really competitive game. For us, it’s important because we are on top of the table and to maintain that, we need three points tomorrow.”
RKFC’s midfielder, Samuel Kynshi, who hails from Meghalaya, has become a key part of the team this season and feels the team spirit can take them through.
“The mood is really good in the dressing room, we have been working hard on the pitch and all the players are ready to perform. I think we will do really well if we can maintain this momentum and work hard on the things the coach tells us,” Kynshi said.
TRAU FC come into the match on the back of successive 1-0 defeats against Sreenidi Deccan and Mohammedan Sporting.
The Imphal-based side is yet to lose to Real Kashmir in their five previous I-League meetings, with four draws and one win. The Snow Leopards defeated Churchill Brothers for the first time and will be hoping to do the same against TRAU with the support of their noisy home fans.
The match between Real Kashmir and TRAU will kick off at 2 PM.
