Srinagar- The weather department said on Monday that the cold wave conditions will intensify across the Kashmir Valley in the coming days, while ruling out possibility of any snowfall in the plains during the next 10 days.
Amid the prevailing dry weather conditions, minimum temperatures continued to drop in the Valley on Monday due to clear overnight sky.
“The minimum temperatures dropped further across Kashmir today due to the clear night sky. These temperatures are likely to drop further as the weather is likely to remain dry during the next 24 hours,” said Mukhtar Ahmed, Deputy Director, Meteorological Department in Srinagar.
“As of now, there’s no expectation of any new weather system in J&K. The weather will continue to remain somewhat the same in the next 8-10 days. It’s unlikely that plain areas will receive any snowfall during the above period,” he said.
“However, the weather will continue to remain foggy, which is likely to reduce visibility in the valley in the coming days,” he added.
