Education system in valley has always been in news, whether it is for its decisions, policies and any other orders. As the career and future of the students are at stake, everyone is keeping a vigil eye on the functioning of the said department and concerned stakeholders. Examination pattern in the recent years have witnessed drastic changes, especially board examinations of 10th and 12th classes. The series pattern of question papers and abolishing the paper (Paper A and B) system have drawn flake from all stakeholders. Some take it in positive line while others have a different approach towards it. No doubt changes are for the betterment in any system, however it should have positive impact in the society.
Series system has been in practice from decades in Central Board of School Education (CBSE), however their approach is quite different as their question papers carry same questions in all series. The only variation in their pattern is the question numbering. In this way CBSE students are put into same platform while qualifying the examinations. Take the case of JK Board examinations all papers series carry different questions, creating frustrations among the students.
Board exams are going on for 12th class, as it is obvious that different series of question papers are put forward to the students to solve them. Students cry for discrimination as different yardsticks are put into practice for the students to qualify the exams. For instance series X carry difficult questions and according to the appearing students, was very difficult to solve. Students alleged that it is sheer discrimination to them as they were put to solve difficult questions as compared to their classmates who got Series Y or Z to solve. All stakeholders took serious not of it but what to do haunted their minds. Is it justice to these students who were put to solve the X series?
Now the question arises is it not possible to follow the CBSE pattern of setting question paper series, so that all students should be provide same plateform to test them. They will be given equal opportunity to test their talent and strength in education.
