GANDERBAL- The first ever Inter College Sports Festival, being organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports J&K, entered its Day 4 on Monday with 17 matches in 8 sports disciplines taking place at Government College Of Physical Education (GCOPE) Gadoora here.
While providing details about the matches played on Monday, Dr Hartej Singh, principal of the college, said that in Football (men), AS College Srinagar defeated GDC Pattan 5-0 and GDC Baramulla defeated GDC Ganderbal 5-0.
In Volleyball (Men), GDC Baramulla defeated AS College Srinagar in two straight sets while in the other match GDC Ganderbal defeated GDC Bijbhera in two straight sets. The principal further stated that in Volleyball (women), GCOPE defeated GDC Zukura 3-0. In Kho-Kho (men), GDC Baramulla defeated GDC Pulwama and GCOPE defeated GDC Ganderbal.
In Kho-Kho (women), WC MA Road Srinagar defeated WC Baramulla, while in the other match GCOPE defeated GDC Sumbal. In Basketball (men), GCOPE Ganderbal defeated WC MA Road 54-27. In Table-Tennis (women), GCOPE defeated GDC Bijbhera by 2-0.
GDC Baramulla and Amar Singh College Srinagar have placed their position in the football finals, while GCOPE and GDC Baramulla have reached in Kho-Kho (Men) finals. GCOPE and GDC Baramulla have finalised their positions in Basketball (Men) finals, GCOPE and WC MA Road Srinagar have clasped their position in Basketball (Women) finals and GCOPE and WC Baramulla have clutched their place in Table-Tennis (Women) finals.
