Court directs police to file report
SRINAGAR: A local Court Tuesday directed SSP Srinagar to conduct a detailed inquiry to ascertain the truthfulness or falsehood of the allegations leveled by applicant against former Chief Minister and retired top cop for their alleged role in random killings of youth during street protests in 2010.
Syed Ali Geelani led Hurriyat Conference Tuesday filed a petition before Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar seeking registration of FIR against former chief minister, Omar Abdullah and former SSP Srinagar Ashiq Bukhari with regard to the 2010 civilian killings.
Pertinently around 120 youth were killed during summer unrest of 2010 in police and government forces actions while hundreds of people were injured some of them critically.
Reports said the application before the CJM Srinagar V.S.Bohu was filed by Hurriyat G General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Sumji through their council Advocate Muhammad Shafi Reshi.
Reshi said that CJM Srinagar directed SSP Srinagar to file a detailed report before his court by or before April 6 next month. (CNS)
