Sajad Lone meets families of victim children
HANDWARA: Minister for Science, Technology and Animal Husbandry Mr. Sajad Gani Lone today met the families of two children who were mauled to death by stray dogs the other day at Lachipura Handwara.
The Minister expressed deep shock over the unfortunate incident and consoled the grief stricken families of the victim children.
Expressing concern over the increasing population of stray dogs in the area, he said that concerted measures would be taken with the involvement of the experts and local civic authorities to prevent such incidents in future.
Experts will be consulted to scientifically control the increasing canine population in the area he said and assured that he would personally pursue the matter for an early action in this regard.
Pertinently, two children, Sobia Farooq(8) daughter of Farooq Ahmed Dar, Irfan Ahmed Khan(10) son of Ghulam Mohammad Khan died after a pack of stray dogs attacked them on Tuesday near their residence in Lahcipura area, village of Rajwar.
