Srinagar- Twenty three more people tested positive for Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, taking the number of people infected since the onset of pandemic in the Union territory to 478894.
According to officials, Kashmir Valley detected 16 new cases of virus while seven others were registered in Jammu division.
In the Valley, they said, Budgam reported the highest six new cases of virus, Srinagar 5, Baramulla 2 and one each in Kupwara , Anantnag and Kulgam. No new cases were detected in the remaining four districts of Pulwama, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Shopian.
In the winter capital, officials said, six new cases of Covid-19 were detected in Jammu and one in Doda. The remaining eight districts of Udhampur, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi registered no new cases of Coronavirus.
Also, the officials said that the death toll in the pandemic remained unchanged at 4784 in J&K—2351 in Jammu and 2433 in the Valley, as no fresh fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.
“Moreover, 43 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 09 from Jammu division and 34 from Kashmir division,” they added.
