‘Pakistan Continuously Supplying Drugs To Ruin Future Of Youth’
Srinagar- Asserting that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has improved a lot during the past three to four years, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said on Monday that people have appreciated the working of police and other forces and there exists a mutual respect between the two.
Singh made these remarks after laying foundation stone of multi storeyed buildings at Bhagwanpora, Sangam in Srinagar on Monday, a police spokesperson said.
Addressing the locals of the area, Singh, he said, directed the jurisdictional officers to take necessary steps to solve the grievances of the people on priority.
The DGP, according to the spokesperson, said that the J&K Police is also expecting and getting full support and cooperation from people in maintaining peace and order.
“To secure the bright future of our youth, Police and people have to work together. Past which has given pain has to be left behind so as to provide a peaceful environment to our coming generations,” the DGP said.
Complimenting police & forces for showing patience and restraint during tough times while maintaining peace & order, the DGP, as per the spokesperson said that we have to continue our work together for the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.
Singh, he said, also maintained that police personnel come from the same society and work for the betterment of his own society.
The DGP also said that the impressions about some areas are also changing now.
Speaking of the new challenge of narcotic terrorism, the spokesperson said that the DGP termed it a high time to take action against the menace. Singh, he said, stated that JKP’s Drug-de-addiction Center which is functional in the downtown area is providing all necessary facilities and services to the drug addicted youth.
“He said that those youth who were trapped unknowingly in the drug abuse and have acknowledged that the path of drug addiction as a path of destruction should work as role models to other youth and advise them about the ill effects of the addiction,” the spokesperson said.
He further said that the DGP urged the locals of the area to discuss and guide the youth through mosques & community meetings to stay away from the menace.
“He said that Pakistan is continuously supplying drugs with an aim to damage the mind and health of our youth and ruin their future. He said that all of us have to play a role to save our youth from destruction,” the spokesperson added.
He further said that DGP asserted that it has always been an endeavour of the Police department to come closer to its people in order to secure their lives & property.
“He appreciated and expressed his gratitude to the people of the area for providing their support and also a piece of adjacent land for constructing a police building.
